| Acrylic Buffing Kit Instructions |
*Read all of the instructions before starting the project* Additional items required: This kit is only to be used on the outside of the aquarium, or in a dry aquarium, and never underwater. First, mask off the entire area. This process can be very messy as the liquid abrasive and water will spin off of the drill pad easily. Fill the water bottle with clean, fresh water. Attach the drill backup pad to an electric drill. Attach the lambswool pad to the drill backup pad using the hook and loop. Heavily moisten the lambswool with the spray bottle and apply a quarter-sized amount of Liquid Abrasive. Start your timer. Spray water on two square feet of the acrylic panel. Spread the liquid abrasive around the acrylic panel before you start the drill, this helps reduce splatter. Start the drill and go over two square feet in a random pattern for 10 minutes. Slowly go left to right, up and down, go in circles and any random pattern you wish. Continuously spray the surface with water. When you notice there is no more milky residue of Liquid Abrasive, stop and re-apply Liquid Abrasive to your black lambswool pad. Cover the entire panel, two square feet at a time, for 10 minutes each section. Now you are ready to begin polishing with the white sponge pad. Heavily moisten the white foam pad and attach to the drill backup pad. Apply a quarter-sized amount of Liquid Abrasive to the white sponge pad. Start your timer. Spray water on two square feet of the acrylic panel. Spread the white sponge pad around on the acrylic panel. Start the drill and go over two square feet in a random pattern for 10 minutes. Slowly go left to right, up and down, go in circles and any random pattern you wish. Continuously spray the surface with water. When you notice there is no more milky residue of Liquid Abrasive, stop and re-apply Liquid Abrasive to your white sponge pad. Cover the entire panel, two square feet at a time, for 10 minutes each section. When the entire panel has been polished with the white sponge pad, spray the panel with water and wipe it all down. Take a good look at the panel. If there are any areas that need more polishing, go over them with the black lambswool pad and the white sponge pad as described above.
