Take control of your acrylic by taking ownership. Who is in charge of the acrylic?
Put the “you scratch it you polish it” rule into effect.
- Train all employees on the hand method of scratch removal
- Have several hand kits on site
Do not touch the acrylic with anything that will scratch
Everything can scratch acrylic
If you must touch the acrylic be aware of what comes in contact with the acrylic
If working around the acrylic and there is a chance you could touch it, protect it first.
Make a list of “approved items” to use on your acrylic. Use only these approved items.
Always use your eyes too look for abrasive items and your hands to feel for abrasive items every time you use the approved items on the acrylic
If you drop the approved item on the ground, gravel or anywhere else it could pick up particles that will scratch acrylic, so do not use it. Wash it off first.
When cleaning the inside, go over the entire panel except the bottom 6 inches. When you are done go back and clean the bottom 6 inches going left to right. Do not go above the 6-inch mark. Do not use that same tool until you have washed it.
Avoid cleaning the acrylic when you cannot see what you are doing.
Have a clean area specified for all of your inside cleaning tools and your outside cleaning tools. Keep these two groups separate at all times.
Keep your work area and tools clean at all times
